Ardencote is Awarded Silver Sustainability Status by Green Tourism
We are delighted to announce we have been awarded Green Tourism’s Silver Accreditation, an internationally noted award, in recognition of our commitment to sustainability practices.
A qualified assessor for Green Tourism undertook a green check assessment on Ardencote’s operations, analysing our performance as a sustainable tourism operation. Over 15 different criteria were reviewed as part of the audit, including communications, health and wellbeing, equality, travel, energy consumption and waste management.
Ardencote is pleased to report that we scored highly in a number of areas, having introduced a variety of sustainability initiatives and green best practises here over the last twenty five years. This has included our commitment to utilising fresh, local produce, planting over 4,000 trees and hedgerows on site, promoting accessibility and inclusivity, and implementing a Green Action Plan to further drive our sustainability efforts.
Commenting on Ardencote’s sustainability efforts, Managing Director Dale Huckerby said “We are absolutely delighted to be awarded the Silver Tourism Award. We have been working towards this for many years, implementing policies and practices that allows Ardencote to thrive alongside the ecosystem of our location. We are looking forward to working with Green Tourism and implementing the action plan we have made alongside them, in the effort to promote a carbon neutral environment.”
