Things To Do In Warwickshire This Summer
The Summer holidays are here, so we think it’s the perfect time to get planning some things to do. Warwickshire isn’t short of things to do for all the family, here are our favourites.
Go back in time with a day at Warwick Castle
Warwick Castle is one of the most well known Castles in the UK, and can usually be found at the top of the list of places to visit when coming to Warwickshire. Built in 1068, by William the Conqueror, Warwick Castle boasts all the medieval features you would expect to see in a Castle of its kind. It’s packed full of things to do, for all ages, whether you want to cheer on the Knights in the Jousting display, or test your nerves in the Castle Dungeons, there is something for everyone. Located only a 15 minute drive from Ardencote, Warwick Castle makes for the perfect day out, and what’s more if you stay at Ardencote on our School Holidays Break package you receive Four Free tickets to the Castle!
Dive into the Sea Life Centre
The Sea Life Centre is a little further afield than Warwick Castle, but is still reachable inside the hour mark from Ardencote. It’s a great chance to take the kids out to explore the incredible species our Oceans and Waterways have to offer, and has plenty of interactive exhibits to get them involved. After a long day, head back to Ardencote for a delicious Three Course Dinner, and tuck yourselves in for a comfy nights sleep in one of our family rooms. Guests of Ardencote can also receive discounted tickets to the Sea Life Centre.
Get active with local cycle routes
If you’re looking for a challenge why not cycle the Claverdon to Malvern trail and enjoy some of the stunning scenery Warwickshire and the surrounding counties has on offer. Start your morning with a breakfast at Ardencote, that will give you the energy to undertake the 70 mile round trip. Not one for the faint-hearted but we can promise you there are plenty of places to stop along the way, and we can even provide you with a tasty packed lunch to take with you. At the end of the day head back, soothe your aching muscles in our indoor Jacuzzi, and tuck into a well earned Three Course Dinner. Take a look at the Claverdon to Malvern Cycle Route.
A Day at The Races
Grab your hats, it’s time for a day at the races! Located just six miles from Ardencote, Warwick Racecourse makes the perfect grown up day out. The Autumn/Winter Race schedule has been announced, so get organised and book a weekend away, we can even offer you discounted Race Day tickets if you stay with us!
Stay closer to home
Ardencote has a lot to offer, and just a brisk walk around the stunning grounds will give you an idea of what wildlife lives here. Rabbits and swans are often spotted, and if you look carefully enough you may even spot the pair of Green Woodpeckers that live on our Golf Course. Rarer still is our resident Moggie that lives with the Greenkeepers. She’s a large, once domesticated cat, that will often prowl the golf course on an evening, so keep an eye out!
